1 TB of storage, Lidar scanner, the novelties are confirmed

The iPhone 13 continues to be talked about. Less than two months before the keynote, an analyst report confirms several points of the technical sheet, including an option with 1 TB of internal storage. In addition, it looks like the Lidar scanner is finally being integrated into all models, including the more affordable editions.

Citing “Sources of the supply chain”, analysts at Wedbush Securities Inc., a major US investment firm, say Apple will indeed offer 1TB of internal storage on the iPhone 13s. “We have increased confidence that the iPhone 13 will have a 1 terabyte storage option, which is double the highest Pro storage capacity today (512 GB)”, Wedbush Securities advance

The investment company had already prophesied the arrival of a 1 TB option in February. After keeping an eye on the supply chain, Wedbush is able to confirm its predictions. Unsurprisingly, Apple should reserve the 1TB of storage for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max.

Apple would integrate the Lidar scanner on all iPhone 13

In the process, Wedbush confirms the presence of the Lidar scanner on the entire range of iPhone 13. Unlike last year, the radar dedicated to augmented reality will not be reserved for the most high-end editions. This new generation “Will also include a number of improvements with Lidar on all iPhone 13 models”, assures the company after surveying the supply chain. We imagine that Wedbush is based its assertions on the orders made by Apple with its suppliers.

Conflicting reports emerged in recent weeks contradict claims from Wedbush. According to TrendForce analysts, Apple would offer the same storage capacities as last year on the iPhone 12. The 1TB option would then be reserved for next year and future iPhone 14. Similarly, a series of leakers believe that the Lidar will again be confined to Pro editions.

Finally, the report confirms the arrival of the iPhone 13 on time. “The 2021 launch schedule will be ‘normal’. From a timing perspective, we believe the current iPhone 13 launch is scheduled for the third week of September ” Wedbush continues. The latest leaks are also counting on a keynote from September 14, 2021.
