5G: electrosensitive, he uses a wave jammer to block his city’s network

Following several complaints from customers of various operators in the town of Sarreguemines, the ANFR (National Frequency Agency) managed to detect a wave jammer, which was used by an “electrosensitive” person.

For many months, the inhabitants of the Himmelsberg district lived through a real hell. Mobile networks had become inaccessible, and Wi-Fi networks in the area were very disrupted. The cause of the failures is, to say the least, quite surprising: man believed to have electrosensitivity used signal jammer his home.

According to the National Frequency Agency (ANFR), the man used the devices to jam 2G, 3G, 4G and even 5G communications from the relay antenna, located just a few hundred meters from his home.

He jammed his entire neighborhood network for months

Fortunately, the ANFR was able to locate the origin of the problem and alert the authorities. Using a direction finder, the Agency was able toanalyze the circulation of electromagnetic waves and go back to the suspect apartment.

On the spot, the authorities discovered a man claiming to suffer from electrosensitivity, an increased sensitivity to electromagnetic waves and electric fields. To protect himself against the waves, the man had not only used a jammer, but had also lined his entire home with foil.

The Sarreguemines court finally tried the man for illegal possession of this type of object. As a reminder, the possession of a wave jammer is prohibited by law, and punishable by six months in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros. In the end, the latter did not receive any sentence, despite several recurrences, the judge not having retained the intention to disturb public order.

Protecting yourself from the waves with a jammer is a bad idea

The paradox is that it is not really possible to protect oneself from the waves of the surrounding networks using a jammer. ANFR recalls that the wave jammers emit many more waves than the useful networks that the individual sought to block.

Also note that the range of jammers is often much wider than the sellers suggest, which means that their use could seriously disturb your neighbors for several hundred meters. Jammers also seem to be multiplying on the territory, to the chagrin of the authorities.
