Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2021: Bigger Screens and USB-C!

Amazon is refreshing its Kindle Paperwhite line for the first time in nearly three years with two new models that feature a larger, brighter 6.8-inch E-Ink display with adjustable color temperature from USB-C, a faster processor and weeks of battery life.

Amazon has just announced two next-generation Kindle Paperwhite, which feature larger screens, a new interface, and, finally, USB-C ports for charging. Both models feature the same basic design: a 6.8 inch screen (compared to 6 inches on previous models), a water resistance IPX8, and greater battery life which Amazon says can last up to 10 weeks between two charges.

Other than these improvements, the models still offer the same reading experience without glare and with a pixel density of 300 ppi. However, Amazon promises that its new tablets can turn the pages of your eBooks 20% faster. In addition, the maximum brightness would have been increased by 10%, and you can now adjust screen heat for easy reading.

Amazon presents two new Kindle Paperwhite

The two new Kindle, named Paperwhite and Paperwhite Signature Edition, offer an updated user interface, making it easier to switch between the Home screen, Library, and Current Book. On the side of the library, you will be able to find new filters and sorting options, a new collection view and an interactive scroll bar.

The classic model which offers 8 GB of storage is available in two versions, one with ads priced at 139.99 euros, and another without ads at 149.99 euros. The Amazon France site indicates that the e-readers will be available from from next October 27, but you can already pre-order them.

The Paperwhite Signature Edition is basically the same as the new Paperwhite, but with a few more improvements. To begin with, it has a 32 GB storage capacity instead of 8 GB. This version is also capable automatically adjust the brightness depending on the lighting conditions of your location. Finally, she is compatible with wireless chargers with Qi standard, so you can set it down for charging rather than having to plug in a cable. Its price is unsurprisingly higher, at 189.99 euros. This model will be available from November 10, 2021.
