Android 12: Google will deploy the stable version on October 4, 2021
Android 12 is approaching. After a last beta version, Google is preparing to launch the deployment of the final and stable version of the update. According to an internal document, the deployment will begin on October 4, 2021.
A few days ago, Google rolled out the beta 5 version of Android 12 to the Pixels. The Mountain View giant has been very clear: this is the last test version before the deployment of the final version. Google has also committed to launch the deployment of Android 12 in the coming weeks if no major bug is detected by the testers. Against this backdrop, the update was expected to roll out in early October 2021.
a Google internal document obtained by our colleagues at XDA Developers confirms our estimates. This document concerns the dates from which it will no longer be allowed to launch a smartphone under a later version of Android. Thus, Google will prohibit manufacturers from launching a phone under Android 10 from December 31, 2021. For its part, Android 11 expires in March 2023.
Google will deploy Android 12 shortly before the Pixel 6 presentation
Importantly, the document reveals when Google will add Android 12 update to AOSP (Android Open Source Project): October 4, 2021. In the process, the American firm should launch the deployment of its operating system. “The stable update to Android 12 could be released on October 4, because that’s when Google plans to release it on AOSP”, said Mishaal Rahman, editor-in-chief of XDA, on Twitter.

The document shows that the release date on AOSP corresponds to the start of the update deployment on the pixels. We can see the date of September 8, 2021 in the column dedicated to Android 11. It is indeed on this date that Google began the deployment of the update on compatible Android smartphones, starting with its Pixels.
Under these conditions, the deployment of Android 12 should take place shortly before the presentation of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The range of premium smartphones is expected to be announced around mid-October. A clue left by Google also mentions the date of Tuesday, October 19. We’ll tell you more as soon as possible about Android 12.
