Android 12 will integrate a menu to record photos and game videos
On the occasion of a conference dedicated to game developers, Google announces the arrival in Android 12 of the Game Dashboard. This is a new menu that allows you to easily create screenshots and videos of a game. This new menu will bring a “game mode” to all Android interfaces which today do not have one.
Google hosted a conference dedicated to developers this week. Far from being as publicized as the Google I / O 2021 that we followed last May, this conference is aimed more specifically at game studios. It is called Google For Games Dev Summit. It took place on July 12 and 13, 2021. Among the announcements, we reported yesterday the arrival in Android 12 of a new function allowing to start a game before its complete download, as on PlayStation or Xbox.
Google Discover will experience a big design change on Android smartphones
Another piece of information caught our attention. It’s about ” Game Dashboard “. This is a menu dedicated to gamers. It is accompanied by a connector (or API) which makes it possible to integrate this menu accessible from all compatible games. The idea is to create an equivalent of the game space or the game mode of certain Android interfaces. We are thinking in particular of One UI, Realme UI, MIUI, ColorOS, OxygenOS, Funtouch, etc.
Android 12 will include a menu dedicated to gamers
This menu offers several advantages. First, it offers shortcuts to tools that some gamers use on a daily basis, such as the video capture or capture of the screen. It also enables the ” Do not disturb To avoid the untimely intrusion of notifications. Then it integrates a game mode to reduce (more battery) or increase (more fluidity) the performance of the platform. These modes are separate from those you usually find in the Android 12 interface.
This menu is obviously not as complete as Legion region or Armory crate, which you find in gaming smartphones from Lenovo (like the Legion Duel Phone 2) and Asus (ROG Phone 5 for example), respectively. In these, you find not only the same options as the Game Dashboard, but also more advanced optimization tools than game settings functions. But this first foray by Google is certainly only the first step.
