Android 12L: the 3rd beta is here is available on Pixel 6
Google is currently rolling out the third and final beta of its redesigned version of Android 12L for large screens. We have little information on the new features brought by build S2B3.220205.007.A1, except for a small surprise: the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can now test the OS. The launch for 2022 seems to be off to a good start.
Google had warned us: Android 12L would be entitled to three beta versions before its launch this year. The launch of the operating system seems to be fast approaching since, barely a month after the deployment of the second beta, the third and therefore supposedly last is currently available on Pixel smartphones.
We will not have to expect a revolution for this new build S2B3.220205.007.A1. On Twitter, the Android Developers account barely mentions a “updated environment test” and “bug fixes and optimizations”. In other words, the time is visibly for fine-tuning before the big day. A novelty is all the same to underline: the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can now download the update.

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can test Android 12L
This is the first time since the deployment of Android 12L that Google’s latest flagships have the right to get their hands on it, contrary to the firm’s habits of testing these features on its latest devices. Note that almost all Pixels can now get their hands on them, from Pixel 3a to the latest ones. As a reminder, here is the complete list of compatible smartphones.
Not much else on the horizon, but this latest beta announces the upcoming arrival of the operating system. Google has not yet confirmed a specific date, but we refer to the deployment schedule for the latest versions, we can expect to see it land by next month. Anyway, the Mountain View company has already announced that the OS should reach its final version by the end of the first quarter of 2022.
