Apple is reportedly working on a more powerful Mac mini and a 27-inch external display
Apple should unveil during this year a new Mac mini more powerful than the current generation, but also a 27-inch external screen, according to information from Ming-Chi Kuo.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced on his Twitter account that Apple is currently working on a new generation of Mac mini much more powerful, but above all more affordable. This corroborates information from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who previously reported thatApple was going to unveil a new Mac mini this year with an M2 chip.
The new M2 chip is expected to be unveiled at Apple’s Keynote tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8, 2022. We could therefore discover the new Apple computer on this occasion. In addition to its Mac mini M2, Apple is even preparing a more powerful Mac mini with an M1 Pro chip, which can be found on the recent 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

Apple will present a new external display, 3 years after the Pro Display XDR
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would also prepare a new external screen of 27 inchesalmost 3 years later its latest high-end Pro Display XDR model in 2019. We imagine it will be a much more affordable model than Apple’s huge 32-inch 6K display, sold from 5,499 euros.
Unfortunately, the analyst does not give any information about the technical characteristics of the screen, except that this one is not equipped with mini-LEDs. It would therefore be a classic LCD screen, which could be limited to a 4K or FHD definition. Il could be presented alongside the Mac mini M2the 13-inch MacBook M2, but also the iPhone SE 2022 during tomorrow’s event.
Ming-Chi Kuo has already announced that Apple will unveil a new Mac Pro and a new iMac Pro next year. The iMac Pro is expected to replace the 27-inch Intel-based iMac currently in the lineup and be sold alongside the 24-inch desktop computer announced in April 2021. For his part, Ross Young has previously stated that theiMac Pro will have a mini-LED display and previous leaks suggest it will inherit the design of the previous display.
