Apple presents a more powerful and cheaper Apple TV 4K made to convince the general public
Apple has certainly not organized a keynote to present its new products, but the products presented yesterday are certainly worth the detour. The 2022 Apple TV 4K should be of particular interest to homes looking for a smooth and ergonomic media hub.
If all of Apple fans’ attention was on the new iPad and the steroid-fed iPad Pro M2, the 2022 Apple TV 4K might just win the mainstream. The company does not fundamentally change anything in the recipe of its streaming box and is content to incorporate even more efficient components for even less. A well-known formula but which this year could be (even more) winning.

In terms of design, nothing seems to have changed. After all, why change a winning team? The Apple TV 4K still comes in the form of a black case, which is somewhat reminiscent of the Mac Mini, and a touchscreen remote control integrating Siri. This is recharged via a USB-C socket, a great novelty that will become the standard, Apple is now obliged to adopt this standard for all its products in Europe. Whether entertaining or watching TV, users will appreciate the universally recognized usability and accessibility of tvOS and the Siri-enabled remote.
The A15 Bionic chip brings a performance boost of 50%
Apple critics will probably say the company just pumped up the specs of its streaming box without changing anything else, and they’ll be right. And yet, the firm at the apple has changed everything in order to convince hesitant customers to take the plunge. The case is powered by an A15 Bionic processor, the very one that in 2021 exploded competing mobile processors. According to Apple, performance will jump by 50% (only 30% for the GPU). Support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are also a big plus that the most cinema-loving users will appreciate.
The minimum storage is simply doubled, and goes from 32 GB to 64 GB, with a price drop as a bonus. Indeed, customers will now have the choice between a 64 GB Apple TV 4K and a Wi-Fi connection or a 128 GB box with an Ethernet and Wi-Fi connection that supports Thread network technology. The price oscillating between 169 and 189 € are the icing on the cake. With these prices falling sharply, if we consider the net gain in performance, the last skeptics may well take the plunge and take out the blue card. Remember that the Apple TV 4K with 32 GB of storage was sold for €199. There hasn’t been a big announcement, and frankly no one’s going to regret it, but the arrival of the Apple TV 4K 2022 marks the demise of Apple TV HD. The Apple TV 4K is now available for pre-order. The first enclosures should be delivered between November 4 and 9.
