On the occasion of its new keynote released this Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Apple has lifted the veil on a brand new high-powered compact PC: the Mac Studio. It notably comes with a brand new screen, the Studio Display, a rather impressive 27-inch 5K screen.
As you may know, Apple has made an appointment with the press and its fans this Tuesday, March 8, 2022 for a brand new keynote. The apple brand took the opportunity to lift the veil on several new products, starting with the iPhone SE 5G, its latest mid-range, not to mention the M1 Ultra, its most powerful processor ever developed to date.
Besides, the Cupertino company also presented the Mac Studio, a brand new high-powered compact PC which will be intended above all for demanding users accustomed to particularly energy-intensive tasks, such as video editing or 3D development. However, this powerful monster with its 128 GB of unified memory does not come alone.
It comes with a brand new screen: the StudioDisplay. Presented as the ideal partner for the Mac Studio, this panel Retina 27″ is compatible with all other Macs on the market. Able to offer a definition in 5K, this display boasts 600 nits of brightness, P3 color gamut, and support for over a billion colors. We obviously find the proprietary technology True Tonewhich automatically adapts the color temperature on the screen to your environment.
Studio Display, the ultimate screen from Apple
Powered by an A13 Bionic chip, the Studio Display also has a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, the same one found on the new iPad Air 5 presented during the keynote. Functionality Centered Frame, which allows you to maintain the frame on the subjects during a video conversation, is also included. The audio part is not left out, since the Apple screen integrates a trio of studio-grade pickups and one “high-fidelity six-speaker system ever created for Mac”. It includes four force-canceling woofers (for powerful bass) and two tweeters (for crisp, crisp mids and highs).
Of course, the Studio Display also includes full connectivity, with three USB Type-C and one Thunderbolt port. Last clarification from Apple, the user can if he wishes to connect up to Studio Display to a MacBook Pro to “create a powerful editing or animation studio”. Well, we will have to spend lavishly as John Hammond says.
Regarding the price, the Studio Display will be available from March 18, 2022 starting at €1,749 in its version with standard glass screen, or with €1999 with a nano-textured glass slab, a material that greatly reduces glare in brightly lit locations. It is also possible to add optional tilt and height adjustable stands and a VESA mounting kit.
