Apple: the next generation of HomePod could integrate a large 7-inch screen
According to this expert, the HomePod 2024 could integrate a 7-inch screen. The Cupertino company seems determined to be a leading player in the connected home.
The HomePod is probably Apple’s least talked about product. The Cupertino smart speaker, launched in 2018, did not meet with the expected success. The Apple brand has just launched its second generation of connected speakers, with ever greater integration into the company’s ecosystem, undeniable sound quality and a design that is still just as pleasant. Still, in the opinion of many testers, the new HomePod doesn’t make any significant changes to the formula. It is qualitative, certainly, but expensive, and there is little reason to buy it if you already have one.
AT The Devialet Mania is official, this connected speaker transforms the sound according to your environment
The now famous Ming Chi Kuo, an expert in all things Apple, claims that the HomePod version 2024 will integrate a major noveltywhich could convince many potential customers to make a purchase.
The 2024 HomePod will sport a 7-inch screen
The rumor that the HomePods will integrate a camera and a touchscreen had been postponed since 2021. If true, the HomePod is about to turn into a real command center for home automation equipment in the home. This is certainly already possible at present, through Siri, the company’s voice assistant, but according to experts, the Cupertino company is in the process of completely rethinking its smart home strategy. A hybrid device of HomePod and Apple TV is said to be in the works, as well as a HomePod mounted on an articulated arm. Some even claim that the company is working on a new operating system, dubbed homeOS.
At the hardware level, Me Kuo does not give any other details concerning the 7-inch screen that would equip the HomePod 2024. All we know is that it is the Chinese company Tianma, who won the contract with Apple. It could, in the future, also build the screens of the iPads, if sales of the smart speaker are satisfactory.
