Apple: Tim Cook no longer supports leakers and promises to “identify” them

Following the recent leak of an internal meeting, Tim Cook addressed Apple employees to let them know of his exasperation with the leakers. Ironically, the content of this email was also leaked. The CEO ensures that the people concerned have nothing to do within the company and will be quickly found.

The fight is clearly muscular During this period, the firm went so far as to force certain employees to wear cameras to ensure that they did not disclose confidential information. Nevertheless, these measures have clearly not borne fruit. Several weeks before its release, we already knew everything about the manufacturer’s new flagship. Tim Cook then summons the leakers to denounce their sources on the spot, threatening them to file a complaint if they do not cooperate.

But the CEO is struggling to cope with a business that has become particularly juicy with time. The cup seems full when, a few days ago, the content of an internal meeting about equal pay was found for the umpteenth time in the press. In response, the latter then sent an email to all his employees to inform them of his “Frustration”. Not without a certain sense of humor, the leakers decided to reveal all of the mail.

In the mail, Tim Cook does not hide his exasperation. “I am writing today because many of you have expressed to me your frustration at seeing the content of the meeting leaked to reporters. This comes after a product launch in which most of the details of our announcements were also leaked to the press ”, he says of the iPhone 13. “I want you to know that I share your frustration”. However, the CEO does not want to sit idly by.

“I want to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to identify the perpetrators of the leak”, he continues. “As you know, we do not tolerate the disclosure of confidential information, whether it is the intellectual property of a product or the details of a confidential meeting. We know that the perpetrators of the leaks are a small number of people. We also know that people who divulge confidential information have no place here ”.

Tim Cook does not specify the means put in place to find the trace of the leakers. It is nevertheless easy to imagine that those who get caught will be subject to severe penalties to say the least.
