Apple unveils its iPad Pro 2021 with a SoC M1 “1500 times faster” on the graphics part
Apple showcased its all-new iPad Pro at its April 20 online conference. A new attractive tablet which has the particularity of running an Apple M1 processor, the same as in the MacBook and iMac. It also has a Mini-Led screen.
We will have to get used to it: Apple will use its M1 processor on all of its products. After having equipped its new iMacs with its in-house SoC, it’s your turn of the new iPad Pro to enjoy it. The tablet was presented with great fanfare at the April 20 conference. The Cupertino company claims that it is 1,500 times more powerful than the first generation in terms of graphics power.
The product does not change its format. We still have a tablet with a detachable keyboard that runs on iOS. The evolution is above all technical, with the M1 processor (which is 5G compatible), but also with the mini-LED screen, long awaited. With such a panel, the brightness is in theory excellent. Apple promises, for example, a maximum brightness of more than 1000 nits. That’s more than all smartphones and PCs today. Another technical aspect on which the firm insisted: storage. One of the models will have an SSD of up to 2TB, a first for a tablet.
The iPad Pro will cost at least 899 euros
Another novelty, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle front camera that tracks your movements as you move. Great for conversations when you’re doing anything other than holding the tablet in your hands. We will also always have Wifi 6 included in the machine, but also Face ID. Note the presence of a Lidar sensor, which allows you to have fun with augmented reality, among other things. Finally, the product has a Thunberbolt port.
Apple announces AirTags, new object trackers at 35 euros
The iPad Pro will still be available with Apple Pencil and its Magic Keyboard (or its other variations such as the Smart Keyboard Folio). You can choose it in both space gray and silver and two sizes are available: 11 inches with a Liquid Retina display and 12.9 inches with a Liquid Retina XDR display.
The starting prices announced are still high, with an iPad Pro at 899 euros for the 11 inch version and 1219 euros for the 12.9 inch version. Ultimately, the iPad Pro seems to have completed its transformation into a computer, especially with the presence of this SoC M1, similar to the MacBook line.
