Apple would attack the PS5 and the Xbox with its own console
Apple would like to launch its own console on the market. According to a leak, the iPhone maker would like to design a rival to the PS5 or Xbox to support the rise of the metaverse.
Apple would aim to produce own video game console. According to information relayed by journalist Jez Corden, the Cupertino giant would eventually like to enter the gaming market. For now, the details of the project are obviously still very vague.
According to Jez Corden, also editor of Windows Central, Apple is recruiting engineers from the Xbox division with a vengeance to complete his project. “I’ve been hearing for months that Apple is hiring Xbox engineers to build their own console. I’ve heard for ages that Apple was considering making a video game console“, explains Jez Corden.

Unsurprisingly, console development could be linked to the development of the metaverse, augmented and virtual reality. De facto, this mysterious console would be linked to the arrival of the Apple Glass helmet, the launch of which is planned by the end of the current year. It is obviously unknown how the two projects could be connected.
“I don’t know if it will happen, I also don’t know if they’ve already canceled the project, because Apple is exploring a ton of new things… I don’t have any sources on that, I don’t have no documents, I don’t have any photos, but it’s just something I heard”, tempers the journalist.
This is not the first time that a rumor has claimed that Apple is preparing a video game console. Last October, a leak came to announce that Apple is working on a Nintendo Switch-style hybrid console. Games have already been developed for the launch of the machine.
We invite you to take these rumors with hindsight. A few years ago, Apple assured that the iPhone is a device capable of replacing any console, whether it is a home console or a portable console. With this logic in mind, Apple launched the Apple Arcade service, also available on Apple TV.
