Arknights publisher releases Revived Witch, a pixel art RPG
Yostar offered the RPG Arknights to the whole world in 2020. At the end of 2021, it’s Revived Witch’s turn to be released on Android and iOS in English. It’s only been a few days since the title came out, so difficult to take the temperature of the public reception. However, early feedback allowed Revived Witch to reach the 4.6 stars on the Playstore.
Revived Witch released on Android and iOS
Communication around Revived Witch was rather discreet. In fact, many players (including us) were surprised to learn of the release of a Yostar game. The title joined the Playstore and the Appstore on November 10 in English version. Whether we are a fan of pixel art or not, we must recognize that the play of light and colors is sublime.
The narrative aspect of the RPG uses fairly well-known codes: an amnesiac hero, here a witch, who finds himself in a magical place offering him access to parallel universes. This allows Revived Witch to develop a deep lore by explaining the progress of the witch by that of the player who discovers the world. In addition, the parallel universes offer significantly different sets with their own atmosphere.
I let you discover the Revived Witch gameplay trailer to find out if the game may interest you.
As we can see in this gameplay trailer, the fights work with a double energy bar, an interesting addition compared to the more frequent mechanics. As for the gacha aspect, this is precisely a system that made Arknights shine. Where the gacha almost force you to get your hand in the wallet (being stingy on rolls, making certain rarities of characters or items almost impossible to obtain, etc.), Arknights was rather generous and balanced. It is too early to determine if Revived Witch is also picking up this torch.
