Chrome: Google fixes 11 serious security holes, urgently install the patch
Better not to wait to download the latest Chrome update. Indeed, Google announces in a blog post that 11 vulnerabilities have been detected, all categorized as “serious”. Among them, two are particularly critical: CVE-2021-30632 and CVE-2021-30633.
Despite Google’s efforts to contain threats, Chrome is software like any other, subject to multiple security vulnerabilities. These can be found in program code as well as in the thousands of extensions that endanger users. Thus, regularly, the Mountain View firm deploys corrective patches in order to plug the vulnerabilities it finds there. Sometimes these have never been exploited, but unfortunately this is not always the case.
We can therefore only advise you to install the latest update of Chrome. In a blog post published this Monday, September 13, the publisher explains having discovered no less than 11 security flaws that he all describes as serious. This is more than in April 2021, where 7 vulnerabilities had been corrected at once. Entitled 93.0.4577.82, this new version is aimed at Windows, macOS and Linux users. Among the 11 listed flaws, two are particularly dangerous.
How to download and install the security patch for Google Chrome
Baptized CVE-2021-30632 and CVE-2021-30633, these two breaches seriously endanger the user’s machine. The first tackles V8, the engine used to run codes written in JavaScript. In addition, it is recalled that V8 is also present within Edge, Opera, Brave and Vivaldi. If you are browsing these, we advise you to take a look at the most recent updates. The second, on the other hand, is in the process of “freeing after use” of the IndexedDB API.
