Diablo Immortal release date and PC crossplay version revealed

Blizzard had made an appointment with us this Monday, April 25 to talk to us about Diablo Immortal release date. After a long silence, the studio decided to accelerate the movement. Let’s take a look at what we’ve learned about Diablo Immortal and its slated launch content.

Finally a release date for Diablo Immortal

First announced at the BlizzCon 2018Diablo Immortal gave its news during several test phases: we learned more about its classes, its mechanics, its dungeons, its balancing… However, following an alpha version in 2020, available only for Australians, and several tests , the game did not allow all players to access its content, nor did it give an exit window.

It is via a trailer posted on YouTube that Blizzard has just announced the Diablo Immortal release date : the June 2, 2022.

After the broadcast of the trailer which announced the release date of Diablo Immortal, Wyatt Chengthe game director of the title, answered some questions from the community.

We learned that it’s about the game the biggest and most ambitious of the Diablo license. His card is huge is separated into 8 areas different. 6 classrooms will be available at launch, including Barbarian, Sorcerer, and Necromancer.

On the lore side, Diablo Immortal takes place 5 years before Diablo 2before the events of Diablo 3. But, of all these announcements, there is one that we did not see coming: the release of Diablo Immortal on PC.

A Diablo Immortal PC cross-play and cross-progression version

The most surprising in these announcements from Blizzard is undoubtedly the existence and the future release of a Diablo Immortal PC version. As explained in the interview, the developers decided to start from a mobile game base for reach as many people as possible. However, they wanted fans who had already acquired the license to enjoy the PC experience.

Although unexpected, this turnaround for a new Diablo game on PC is not entirely surprising when you know the resistance that the mobile title has encountered from the community since its announcement. Moreover, according to this interview, this Diablo Immortal port to PC based mobile game seems more akin to an official emulator port like Genshin or RAID: Shadow Legends than a title entirely designed for the PC.

Therefore, Diablo Immortal will be completely cross play between Android, iOS and PC versions. In addition to this, the game will integrate the cross progression. In other words, it will be possible to extend your PC gaming session on mobile.

Finally, on the gameplay side, three solutions will be available: touch controls of the mobile version, the keyboard mouse on PC, but also the support of the controller on both versions.
