Galaxy Watch 5 Pro: the watch promises to be super resistant thanks to sapphire crystal and titanium
To make it even more premium, South Korean tech giant Samsung could launch its next smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, with screen protected by sapphire crystal and titanium structure.
Next summer, Samsung is expected to unveil two new smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. While the first model should come in two versions of different sizes (40 mm and 46 mm), the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro should stand out for its unique size, but also for the quality of its materials.
Indeed, according to information from leaker Ice Universe, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 Pro would have sapphire crystal protection, which would allow it to be particularly resistant to falls and scratches. This would therefore be a first for Samsung, which currently uses less resistant Gorilla Glass DX glass on its latest Galaxy Watch 4 of 2021.
Samsung will use titanium for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
In addition to sapphire crystal, Ice Universe announces that Samsung’s next watch will have a titanium case, which will make it super resistant. As a reminder, this would not be not the first time that Samsung has used titanium in one of its smartwatches.
Indeed, a few months after the launch of the Galaxy Watch 3 in 2020, Samsung had finally unveiled an even more expensive titanium version. The watch was offered at almost $600, or 50% more than the steel version.
On his side, Apple also offers titanium Apple Watches. The Series 7, for example, houses a model from 829 euros with a sports bracelet, and from 879 euros with a leather link bracelet. It would therefore not be surprising to see Samsung offer its Galaxy Watch 5 at a similar price.
As for its spec sheet, we’ve seen before that Samsung’s Pro Watch is expected to come with a monstrous 572 mAh battery, or 60% more than the classic Galaxy Watch 4. The new watch could therefore offer a much more impressive autonomy than the previous generation.
