Galaxy Watch: Samsung could soon integrate a video projector into its connected watches
An interesting patent filed recently by Samsung has just surfaced. This presents a Galaxy Watch equipped with a projector, capable of broadcasting the screen of the connected watch on the wrist of the user. Convenient for displaying information on a larger space.
For many, connected watches make life easier by giving access to a whole host of information directly on their wrist. In the same way that the smartphone has made it possible to perform the same tasks as a computer while storing in the pocket, the connected watch replaces the smartphone with a simple movement of the arm. But this practicality has a price: that of screen size. Difficult to display certain information, at the risk of ending up with a heavy weight on the wrist.
Samsung may well have found a solution to combine the best of both worlds. Indeed, a patent spotted by our colleagues from GS Marena shows a Galaxy Watch equipped with a video projection system. Be careful however, there is no question of going to Netflix from your connected watch to project the film on your wall. Instead, the Korean firm has imagined a watch capable of broadcast the content of its screen directly on the wrist of its user.

Samsung is considering integrating a video projector into its Galaxy Watches
On the image, we notice that the screen of the watch is duplicated on the wrist of the user. Additionally, Samsung describes other features for this projector, including the ability to broadcast content different from that displayed on the screen, or even video content, potentially coming from a streaming platform. On the other hand, the technology would be content for the moment with a project on the wrist of the owner.

At first glance, this technology would therefore partially solve the problem of screen size by allowing the user to view content on a larger space, while keeping the size of the Galaxy Watches at a reasonable level. That being said, let’s remember as usual that this is only a patent for the moment and that nothing yet indicates that Samsung is indeed planning to integrate this technology into its next models of connected watches. .
