Google on iOS: it is possible to delete your history for the last 15 minutes
Google on iOS is today introducing a new feature announced a few months ago: the ability to erase the last 15 minutes of your history. Very practical for covering up your traces or removing somewhat absurd requests.
On Google, we’ve all done somewhat shameful searches that we don’t want to show up in our history, whether it’s to find something obvious or a little bit absurd. With this new feature, the Californian firm lets you quickly delete it. Indeed, the application allows you to delete all your searches the last fifteen minutes in one click. For that, you have to open it, then go to your profile picture. The option “erase last 15 minutes” will then be available.
It was a feature promised by Google last May. It was obviously already possible to clean up your history, but you had to either erase everything or do it manually. With this feature, no more hassle. Ideal for deleting a search, or a password accidentally saved on the browser.
This Google feature only available on iOS
However, you certainly won’t be able to use this feature today, unless you meet specific criteria. Indeed, it is not available only in North America and on iOS. As for Android, we will have to wait a bit. The Mountain View firm had announced “later in the year” without going into details. We will therefore have to be patient. Likewise, it is not known when European users will be able to take advantage of it. The feature is starting to roll out, so it should only be a matter of days, at most.

Google also offers another handy feature: the ability to automatically clear your history after a certain time. You can keep all your data, of course, but also delete it automatically after 3 or 18 months. Ideal for getting rid of old data without having to manually search your archives.
Again, the thing is only deployed on iOS in the United States. We do not know when she will arrive in France. In any case, this feature could appeal to a lot of users in the future.
