Google Stadia: 13 recent games to try for free
After a somewhat chaotic start, Google Stadia hopes to awaken interest in its platform of cloud gaming proposing 13 games to try for free for a limited time. So what games are available and how long can they be played? We review Google’s announcement.
Stadia wants to bounce back thanks to demos
Launched in 2019, Google Stadia was to revolutionize cloud gaming to allow as many people as possible to access their catalog of games on all their devices (television, PC, tablet, smartphone).
The details of Google Stadia’s announcement left technology and video game lovers, including myself, in awe.
In fact, a very large connection is necessary to achieve a stable result. As for the catalog, we are well far from the promise of the Netflix of video games. We certainly count several hundred games, but quite a few recent games. The subscription Stadia Pro gives access to 51 tracksbut again, few recent games and less than ten AAA.
The demos are making a comeback
If like me, you knew the 90s, you surely remember the great era of demos. Video game magazines regularly came with a CD-ROM (I feel like I lost the younger ones) containing demos to test out upcoming games. Before the arrival of the internet, it was also the only way to discover the gameplay of a game before buying it.
Well, those days are not over since Stadia has decided to boost its offer and bring the demos up to date.
