iOS 15: the update breaks the AirTags, impossible to find his things
Available since September 20, iOS 15 poses some concerns for some users. Many of them have noticed that their AirTag no longer works correctly since the update. The Find My app no longer recognizes them. According to several accounts, a simple restart of the iPhone and the tracker is enough to solve the problem.
Barely two days after its release, iOS 15 is already the victim of a few bugs. Yesterday, researcher Jose Rodriguez discovered a critical flaw in the operating system, allowing you to access Notes without having to unlock the iPhone. Obviously, this is not the only concern faced by users who installed the update. As reported by our colleagues from Mac4Ever, it would seem the latter prevents the smartphone from recognizing the AirTags of its owner.
As one user testifies, sometimes iOS 15 literally does disappear the device from the Find My app. Strangely, it detects the tracker well and even offers to emit a sound to find it easily. In other words, it behaves exactly as if the AirTag had never been configured. A very annoying bug, especially if you only realize it once you have lost the object on which the tracker is placed. Especially sincethis is obviously not an isolated problem.
iOS 15 removes all saved Airtags
Indeed, there are several in the comments to describe a similar phenomenon. “I had the same problem, I had to turn my iPhone off and on again and reset my AirTags and everything returned to normal”, wrote one of them. “I had the problem also last night. But they started to reappear on my Apple Watch then on my iPad and iPhone after restarting them ”, adds another.

It would therefore seem that the solution for the moment is to completely reset AirTags and restart your iPhone. These should then reappear in the application. Hopefully, however, Apple fixes the problem quickly, before some permanently lose their valuables that are supposed to be protected by the tracker.
Note that AirTags are not free from safety defects. Two weeks after their release, a researcher demonstrated that it is relatively easy to hack the tracker and then reprogram it.
