The iPhone 15 Pro would finally have physical buttons, Apple

iOS 15 will make it easier to recover Apple IDs by allowing you to call a friend for help
It will soon be easier to recover your Apple ID password. Instead of blocking the account after several unsuccessful attempts, Apple will allow iOS 15 to call a loved one to provide an authentication code. The feature is already available in beta.
Forgetting your Apple ID password is often synonymous with obstacle course. If you ever have the misfortune of failing too many times when trying to log in, your account will be blocked entirely. It will then be necessary tocall Apple directly to regain access on one of your devices. We agree, this solution is far from ideal. Also, the Cupertino company wanted to make things a little easier for its users.
iOS 15 will thus integrate a feature called Account recovery. The idea is simple: rather than having to contact Apple customer service to reset their password, the operating system gives the option of doing the same with a friend – provided he also has an iPhone. He can indeed use the latter to obtain the recovery code and then transmit it to the person in distress. The process then becomes the same as usual: all you have to do is enter the code and then modify the password to regain access to your account.

How to set up recovery contact on iOS 15
Of course, the operation does not work with just anyone. You must first configure the contact you want to call in case of a problem in your iPhone settings. To do this, simply go to Settings> Apple ID> Password & Security> Account Recovery> Add Recovery Contact. On the page that appears to explain precisely the role of this contact, click on Add a contact from recovery. All you have to do is enter your Apple ID password and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note that the selected contact must be at least 13 years old. The functionality is already available in the public beta of iOS 15. However, as always, since this is not the final version of the operating system, bugs may remain. In the meantime, we advise you to choose a strong password that is easy to remember.
