iPad mini 6: after the jerks, the screen suffers from distortion problems
Although the new iPad mini 6 approaches the new iPad Pro in terms of functionality, its screen appears to be experiencing a significant number of issues, and Apple should do nothing to correct them.
Shortly after the release of the new iPad mini 6, early adopters were unpleasantly surprised to find that the scrolling of the screen was jerky. This problem, called “Jelly Scrolling”, results in an oscillation effect between the left and the right part when the content moves quickly.
Despite numerous customer complaints, Apple defended itself by explaining that everything was normal. According to the American giant, these LCD screens refresh line by line, which creates a slight lag between when the top and bottom lines of the screen are refreshed. Yet no other iPad seems to suffer from the same problem.

IPad 6 mini’s screen is a disaster
It doesn’t appear to be the only issue with the tablet’s screen, as new users have noticed that it suffers from discoloration and distortion. Indeed, a user on Reddit noticed that when he tapped on the screen, distortion and discoloration of about an inch appeared within inches of his finger, as can be seen in the video below.
The problem is likely to appear more evident with a dark theme when a tapping and holding gesture is performed, such as when moving objects on the screen. According to the user, it seems that this is not an isolated case, since even after requesting a replacement, the new device also suffered from the same problems.
The Apple Store employee reportedly suggested there may be a future iPad mini recall due to display issues. However, that seems highly unlikely at this point, as Apple has already spoken out about the various issues that users are having. We imagine that if the complaints multiply, Apple could perhaps change its mind. For now, users affected by these concerns can bring their iPad mini to an Apple Store or repair center to request a replacement device.
