iPhone 13: Apple has improved the autonomy of all models
The iPhone 13 was presented. Among the flagship novelties of the range, there is an increased autonomy. Despite the integration of a 120 Hz screen on the Pro editions, Apple has managed to revise the autonomy upwards, probably by integrating larger batteries.
This Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Apple lifted the veil on the iPhone 13. This transitional generation is once again built around 4 models. Among the novelties common to the 4 models, we first find the face ID notch of reduced size and the SoC A15 Bionic.
Above all, the Cupertino giant has largely improved the autonomy of its iPhones compared to iPhone 12. Contrary to its habits, Apple has also extended on the maximum autonomy of phones during the keynote.
Apple announces up to 2.5 hours more battery life on iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max
The standard iPhone 13 thus offers 2.5 hours more battery life than iPhone 12. On its website (updated in the wake of the keynote), Apple promises up to 19 hours of battery life in video playback, 15 hours in video streaming and 75 hours in audio playback. As we told you last year during our iPhone 12 test, the smartphone had a long day of rather sustained use. With the iPhone 13, we should therefore go through the day without a problem.
For his part, iPhone 13 mini promises 1.5 hours more than 12 mini, whose autonomy was catastrophic. During our iPhone 12 mini test, we couldn’t last a full day without going through the recharge box. With his successor, we hope to be able to reach the day of autonomy. Apple also promises up to 17 hours of video playback, 15 hours of video streaming and up to 55 hours of audio playback.
Let’s move on to iPhone 13 Pro. The high-end smartphone promises 1.5 hours more than the iPhone 12 Pro, which had a disappointing battery life compared to its predecessor, the 11 Pro. Apple has probably corrected the situation and announces up to 22 hours of battery in video playback, 20 hours in video streaming and 75 hours in audio playback.
At last, iPhone 13 Pro Max guarantees a gain of autonomy of 2.5 hours compared to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which was already impressive in this field. The old flagship offered autonomy for two consecutive days. With the 13 Pro Max, Apple announces a battery life of up to 28 hours of video playback, up to 25 hours of video streaming and up to 95 hours of audio playback.
This is far superior to the announcements of last year. Obviously, Apple has not communicated on the size of the batteries of its smartphones. It will take a few days for the information to appear on the web.
