iPhone 13: Apple hopes to sell 100 million copies in the first months
Apple has big plans for the iPhone 13 range: the Cupertino tech giant has reportedly ordered more than 100 million A15 Bionic processors for its next line of smartphones. Will the iPhone 13 be as successful as the iPhone 12?
The launch of the series iPhone 13 is fast approaching: Apple is expected to announce the smartphones of the new range during a keynote on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Pre-orders would open on Friday, September 17 for a release in stores on September 24. There are only a few more weeks to wait, then. But will smartphones meet the same success as the different versions of the iPhone 12?
Thanks to their design inspired by iPhone 4, 5G compatibility and new features such as MagSafe wireless charging, the iPhone 12 has been a resounding success, and according to information from our colleagues at Bloomberg, Apple would expect sales. 20% higher for iPhone 13.
iPhone 13: Apple expects colossal success
In recent years, Apple has always asked its partners to produce a stock of 75 million new iPhones for the launch. Depending on demand, the company then adapts production. This time around, the iconic tech brand reportedly placed a massive order over 100 million A15 Bionic chips which will be used in the next generation iPhones. Apple would therefore plan toincrease last year’s figure by over 25 %. A victim of the chip shortage that is delaying production of its devices, the company may also ensure that the number of “iPhone 13” devices produced is not limited.
The A15 Bionic chip, manufactured by TSMC, is expected to use the same 5nm technology as the current A14 Bionic that powers the iPad Air and iPhone 12 models currently available on the market, with four high efficiency cores and two high performance cores. It should offer improvements in terms of performance and autonomy.
Even if Apple is doing everything to prevent leaks this year, the company having even gone so far as to threaten to file a complaint against the leakers, we know a lot of information about the new range. Among the innovations, we can cite the “fast” charging of 25 Watts, the always-on screen Android style, or even a Wifi connection faster than ever.
