iPhone 13: this edition at 6000 euros contains real pieces of iPhone 1, long live recycling

The iPhone 13 is now available in a luxury version by the Caviar brand. It costs more than 6000 euros and has the particularity of containing a piece of the very first iPhone released in 2007. An edition clearly reserved for wealthy collectors and limited to only 19 copies.

Caviar is a brand that is known (among others) for designing limited editions of smartphones (like the S21). It modifies the shell of an existing product to transform it into a luxury item, often bling bling. Its latest creation is interesting, since it is an iPhone 13 which uses components from the first iPhone.

At the beginning of 2007, Steve Jobs presented the iPhone, the first smartphone from the Cupertino brand. A revolution that marked the history of tech. This model of iPhone 13 (Pro or Pro Max) from Caviar (simply named iPhone 2G) wants to pay homage to him.

Indeed, the brand recovered an old iPhone 2G and cut its motherboard in nineteen pieces. These were then placed on the shell of this iPhone 13, more precisely at the level of the logo. You can admire this shine behind a window.

This obviously does not justify the exorbitant price. Caviar also indicates that this limited edition of the iPhone 13 has an ultra-resistant titanium shell. Its design is also important. As you can see, we have a diagram representing the interior of the smartphone engraved on the metal. On the lower part, we can see the signature of Steve Jobs, also engraved. If the design is a little curious, we must admit that it does not have (too much) the bad taste of the other models of Caviar.

Finally, what contributes the most to its price is the rarity of this iPhone 13. Nineteen pieces of the same iPhone were used, with one more. So there is only nineteen copies sold. An ultra collector’s product that will be prized by fans … the wealthy. This is more of a statutory object than anything else, obviously.

The price of 6200 euros does not concern than the Pro version has 128 GB of storage. If you go with the Pro Max model with 1TB of storage, it will cost you $ 8,610, or $ 7,630.
