The iPhone 15 Pro would finally have physical buttons, Apple

iPhone 13: you won’t be able to use your iPhone 12 case, here’s why
As the official release of the iPhone 13 approached, many were hoping to be able to reuse their iPhone 12 cases on their new smartphones. Indeed, all versions of the two models are exactly the same size. Unfortunately, the much larger iPhone 13 sensor prevents compatibility with the shell of its predecessor.
We are only four days of the official launch iPhone 13. The new flagship already seems to be a success, given the speed with which stocks were sold during pre-orders last Friday. If the smartphone brings many new features compared to its predecessor, its dimensions are however exactly the same. Thus, the Mini models both measure 131.5 x 64.2 mm, while the standard and Pro models are 146.7 x 71.5 mm and the Pro Max model at 160.8 x 78.1 mm.
Thus, even if it means paying up to € 1,839 for the new phone, some users hoped to make some savings on its hull. The new one being the same size as the old one, the calculation is fast. But unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Indeed, the reality diverges somewhat from the theory, because the latter does not take into account a change – it is the case to say it – of size. By adding its Cinematic mode and a macro lens, Apple has significantly increased the dimensions of the photo sensor.
The new photo sensor prevents recycling its iPhone 12 case
Results : impossible to dress the iPhone 13 in its old shell, because this does not correspond to the largest size of the photo sensor. This is the price to pay to take advantage of the new features and the better quality that this one offers, but it is a safe bet that many will be disappointed by this finding. Note, however, that this was to be expected.

Indeed, this is not the only design change made by Apple on its flasghip. Side buttons have been moved slightly, while the notch of the selfie sensor is smaller in width and larger in height. There is therefore no other solution than to buy a new case if you want to protect your iPhone against damage. On the other hand, you are free to get it from Apple or not.
