iPhone 14 Pro: Apple doubles production to meet demand

by mobailee November 7, 2022 44

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the production of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max on Indian soil will grow by 150% in the coming months. And continue to increase in the coming years. The political and health context in China precipitated a decision taken a few years ago.

The iPhone 14 Pro is selling so well that factories can’t keep up. The situation is made worse by a resurgence of Covid-19 at Foxconn’s largest factory in China. If you want to get or buy an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max for the holiday season, now is the time to order it: there may not be enough for everyone.

My latest survey indicates that Foxconn will accelerate the expansion of iPhone production capacity in India after Zhengzhou iPhone plant’s COVID-19 lockdown. https://t.co/xQm39OBGpH

The production capacities of Apple’s factories are not sufficient to meet demand. Apple’s flagship smartphone models are selling like hot cakes while iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus sales are stagnating. As a result, Apple decided to stop producing its most affordable devices in order to focus its resources on public darlings. A measure that will not be enough to meet the demandas the company encounters problems in its production chain.

Apple’s Indian factories will stop making iPhone 14s to make iPhone 14 Pros

The Foxconn site in Zhengzhou, which employs around 300,000 workers, suffered a real hemorrhage of manpower between October 10 and November 5 last. Employees of the Taiwanese firm are said to have fled the factory for fear of Covid-19 and weariness of the living conditions resulting from the strict confinement imposed by the authorities. Well aware that such a drop in production is bad for business, Foxconn officials are looking to recruit with a vengeance, with hiring bonuses of $70 and other benefits. Measures which will not be sufficient to restart the machine.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Foxconn could more than double its production capacity in India. The Madras factory was initially dedicated to the production of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. It will eventually produce iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. India manufactures between 2 and 4% of the iPhones sold in the world. The medium-term objective is to increase this figure to 45%. This will allow Apple to be less dependent on the Chinese political and health context. Unfortunately Indian factories will not immediately reach their peak of productivity. If you plan to buy an iPhone 14 for the holiday season, anticipate increased delivery delays. At present, the delay for an iPhone 14 Pro in France is already three to four weeks.
