iPhone 15 Pro: renders give us a better look at the new buttons on the smartphone
Production of the iPhone 15s started some time ago now, and we already know a little more about the design of the iPhone 15 Pro, and in particular what its new buttons will look like on the edges.
At the beginning of the year, we learned that Apple was thinking of doing without physical buttons on its next high-end smartphones, in favor of capacitive buttons. These changes were first seen when CAD-based renders of the iPhone 15 Pro were unveiled.
Since then, other reports had specified the changes that Apple was going to make to the buttons of its device. As on Android smartphones, Apple would for example have chosen to use onlyone button for volumeand was also preparing to change the switch to mute the iPhone.
This is what the buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro will look like
New renderings from China have just unveiled the edge of the iPhone 15 Pro, on which we can see all the new buttons of the smartphone. On the left side of the device, Apple will first make a big change to its volume buttons, as mentioned above.
Indeed, rather than having access to two separate buttons to increase or decrease the volume, Apple would have chosen to use only one button. It will therefore suffice topress the button at the top to increase the sound, and at the bottom to decrease it.
Apple will also change its physical switch to put the smartphone on silent, this small button that it was possible to switch back and forth. This will become a simple “pressure” type button, as you can see in the image above. We imagine that the new button will not have only one functionality, and that it will for example be possible to keep it pressed to perform another action.
These new buttons shouldn’t be appreciated by all iPhone users, but they have one big advantage: they reduce the number of removable parts, which reduces the risk of wear. iPhones should therefore be slightly more durable, a point that Apple has been insisting on for many years.
