iPhone SE 5G: Apple promises better autonomy than on the old model

The iPhone SE 5G offers better battery life than the iPhone SE 2020. According to Apple, its new affordable smartphone is more durable than its predecessor, which had been criticized for a long time on this point.

During a keynote, Apple unveiled the iPhone SE 5G, a new edition of its affordable smartphone. Sold at a starting price of 529 euros, the iPhone stands out thanks to its old-fashioned design, with Touch ID and small 4.7-inch screen, and the presence ofan A15 Bionic SoC.

The integration of this chipset, already at work in the iPhone 13, promises top-flight performance. Thanks to this chip, Apple is also able toimprove autonomy of its new mid-range iPhone.

Apple claims to have improved the autonomy of the iPhone SE

For the record, the iPhone SE 2020 was essentially fishing by its starving autonomy. During our test, we had never been able to last a full day without going through the charging box. After 5 hours of intense use, the iPhone gave up the ghost until the next recharge.

Fortunately, Apple announces that it has greatly improved autonomy with the third iPhone SE of the name. The Cupertino giant thus announces up to 15 hours of video playback, up to 10 hours of streaming video playback and up to 50 hours of audio playback on its official website.

For its part, the old iPhone SE only promised up to 13 hours of video playback, up to 8 hours of streaming video playback and up to 40 hours of audio playback. According to Apple, its new phone therefore offers several hours of additional battery life.

This better autonomy is in particular the result of the A15 Bionic chip, which saves energy consumption to reduce the pressure on the battery. Thanks to this component, the brand has already managed to offer an impressive autonomy to the iPhone 13. Unsurprisingly, the models in the range announced last year are more enduring than the iPhone SE, by Apple’s own admission. This is also the case with the iPhone 13 mini.

For the time being, it is not known whether Apple has also included a more generous battery in its iPhone SE. As always, the brand did not disclose this detail during the keynote. Its predecessor had to make do with a 1821 mAh battery. We’ll tell you more as soon as possible.
