iPhone: the installation of screen protectors in Apple Stores, it’s over
For years, customers who came to buy their iPhone at an Apple Store could walk away with a screen protector fitted to perfection. It is not the case anymore. One thing is certain, Apple has not yet given an explanation.
As you know, Apple took advantage of a new keynote this Tuesday, September 14, 2021 to present the new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Available in stores around the world since September 24, the iPhone 13 seems on course for great success, as evidenced by the scenes of crushes in some shopping centers.
And if ordering your iPhone 13 online has certain advantages, going directly to an Apple Store nevertheless allowed you to benefit from a significant bonus: installing a screen protector on your iPhone, all done with a machine for a smooth result (without air bubbles in particular).
Only, it seems that Apple has decided to put an end to this service. Indeed, since September 24, 2021, official date of the launch of iPhone 13, No Apple Store anymore offers the installation of screen protectors on iPhones. For the moment, Apple has still not given the reasons for the interruption of this very practical service.
A concern with Belkin screen protectors
However, the Apple Stores continue to sell screen protectors Belkin (the brand favored by Apple) or from other manufacturers. According to our sources, the problem would come from Belkin which must carry out quality controls on its range.
Anyway, Apple has given instructions to stop installing the protective film on all available iPhone models. Note also that this is not a local measure, as evidenced by many publications from around the world on social networks.
“Is there a specific reason that Apple cannot install the Belkin screen protector on my iPhone 13 Pro? They’ve done it every launch day for me since, I think, the iPhone 3G ”, explains a user on Twitter. “Hello @AppleSupport, I just bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max from my usual retailer in Bristol UK. I wanted to have a screen protector installed, but I was told that they do not offer this service at the moment due to a quality / installation issue? Are you aware of this problem? ”, another user asked Apple on Twitter.
