Mobile Games News Recap | Week of February 14 to 20, 2022
Discover it weekly recap of mobile gaming news on Android and iOS for the week of February 14 to 20, 2022! We let you read all about it below. ⬇️
1️⃣ While Valentine’s Day events have sprung up on all your favorite mobile games, some titles have offered major updates alongside their temporary events. Among them, we find Genshin Impact and its 2.5 update which finally brings the long-awaited Electro heroine Yae Miko alongside the reruns of Shogun Raiden and Kokomi. These reruns will surely be the key to a best composition to face the Abyss or even the new World Boss that you will have to discover in-game. For the more creative, the 2.5 update is also an opportunity to create your own dungeon with the Divine Ingenuity event, starting March 2, and invite your friends to venture there.
2️⃣ In perfect synchronization with the Genshin update, we discover TFT set 6.5 Neons in the night. With this new set, Riot’s auto-chess now has 80 additional Hextech Augments and twenty heroes, new and old, who arrive on the board in replacement of other champions of the set 6 Gadgets in madness. say hello to Silco the criminal mastermind, Renata Glasc the toxic carry and Zeri the creator of nova electric. On the other hand, bid farewell to Taric, Yuumi, Samira or even all the champions of the Student type removed for set 6.5 in favor of the new Hextech, Rivals and Attacker types. The spirit of the Arcane series hovers over the TFT board and some augments between magic and technology allow even amateur sadists to lose streaks to regain VPs for a memorable comeback. Discover the details of this new set in our dedicated article.
3️⃣ Still in the League of Legends universe, Legends of Runeterra gets The Great Adventure, a new expansion beginning of the year. Find now all the 48 new cards from the expansion here, as well as the 4 new champions and the two new keywords brought by this update. Wild champions are in the spotlight with Udyr, Yuumi or the Yordle Gnarbut we let you discover all that in-game.
4️⃣ Epic Seven filled up on new features for 2022 during a developer livestream. Not all events have a definitive release date yet, but we have prepared a recap of announcements which should arrive in-game in the coming year. On the program, we note the presence of a new secondary story entitled Game of Princesa new 4-star heroine by the name of Armin naughty cat, a world tournament in preparation and even special content to achieve in the guild.
5️⃣ After the Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel release With dated graphics and fairly tight gameplay for new players, it’s the Pokémon card game’s turn to follow suit. The title is not yet ready for a global launch. However, the The Pokémon Trading Card Game Live beta (extendable official name) will begin on February 22 in Canada. Hang on to your VPNs (we advise you to use Cyberghost all year round, like us) or be patient, but for the moment the game is stingy with news, apart from a few screenshots on Twitter published this week.
6️⃣ Facebook became Meta and miHoYo (developer of Genshin Impact) became HoYoverse. The goal is to get a place in the metaverse to come, by offering various and varied virtual experiences around miHoYo licenses (IPs). Announced during the live of the Genshin Update 2.5, a short anime episode featuring the events of Inazuma’s story for Genshin Impact players has been announced. However, we will have to wait to discover new HoYoverse experiences inspired by Honkai Impact: Star Rail or Genshin Impact.
7️⃣ Gear Inc and Mars Retail Group open the pre-registration for M&M’s Adventure on playstore. Android gamers can already pre-register for the as-yet-unannounced release of the colorful title in a match-3/puzzle style with clusters of marbles responding to gravity. At launch, the game will feature over 1000 levels and a competitive leaderboard. M&M’s Adventure honestly looks like a copy-paste of existing mobile games, which themselves copied Flash games, with a fairly cheap M&M’s skin. It will surely be a very forgettable game, unless you are really hungry.
8️⃣ If you have Netflix, you’ve been seeing it trending for days or even weeks and you may have even watched it to find out what it was all about… Well the K-drama All of Us Are Dead becomes a mobile game and will even be ported to other platforms. Ported by Korean developer Ikina games, All of Us Are Dead mobile will be a narrative game mixing zombies and survival, like the previous title from this studio named Order Zero. The hype is strong around this title which ranks third among the most viewed Netflix seriesbehind Money Heist and Squid Game. However, you will have to be patient to be able to play it since All of Us Are Dead will be released on PC in the second half of 2022 and only in 2023 on mobile and consoles internationally.
9️⃣ Endgame for Aotu World… This RPG mixing tactics and Gacha released barely 6 months ago will not have taken long before saying goodbye to its players. The game will officially close its doors on April 11, 2022. No need to try to install it to see a dying game, the title has not been available on the Android and iOS stores for a few days. Too bad, because Aotu World had good proposals and still honored the original animated series despite an automatic mode not very popular at JeuMobi.
🔟 Star Wars: Hunters, the competitive 4v4 game proposed by Zynga, gets a new game mode, 2 new cards and 2 new Hunters. If you’ve been a long-time fan of Star Wars games, you’re going to be amazed by this revival of the Huttball fashiona game that we had not seen since Bioware’s Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO released in 2011. The goal is to score as many goals as possible while avoiding the pitfalls and dangers of the new Dusty Ridge map. To this is added The Great Hunt, an Escort mode map which will see players compete to carry a giant harpoon from the desert of Tatooine to the forest moon of Endor.
1️⃣1️⃣ According to a statement, 7 new Supercell games are currently in preparation. It is not known whether the three announced Clash games, namely Clash Heroes, Clash Mini and ClashQuest are part of this list, or if they are really 7 titles still unannounced. If this is probably good news that will delight fans of Supercell’s emblematic Clash or Boom Beach universe, we can also worry about the weight of quality over quantity, even if Tencent’s investment is there to support these productions. For example, Boom Beach Frontlines didn’t really inspire us despite the expertise of the developers, whose first successful titles are already celebrating 10 years of existence. In any case, the Clash content to come for the next few years promises to be dense and colorful.
1️⃣2️⃣ To stay at Supercell, Boom Beach Frontlines plans to release in more countries for Q2 2022 as well as the appearance of an alliance feature. the 9v9 fighting game will therefore soon benefit from the addition of new map mechanics and changes to its player progression system. The Boom Beach Frontlines wedding bands are not very different from Clans Clash of Clans and it is easy to imagine the future integration of alliance wars in addition to new game modes.
1️⃣3️⃣ You can now pre-register for Hitman Sniper: The Shadows with a view to collecting bonus rewards during its released on March 3, 2022. The story of The Shadows takes place after the disappearance of agent 47 and you’ll play as different snipers with unique strengths and weaknesses. You will soon be able to travel the world from assassination to assassination with Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, the sequel to the Hitman Sniper: Assassins game.
1️⃣4️⃣ NFT Game bonus of the week, Gunship Battle Crypto Conflict is betting on as many keywords as possible in its title to conceal its lack of decent gameplay in its marketing operation. If you haven’t overdosed on crypto and blockchain yet, know that A3: Still Alive, a Korean MMO all in automatic modeis going through the blockchain update box this week. Always more play-to-earn with minimal interest in the game itself, hopefully that’s not the only future for mobile gaming. And then, even if it means making a game that makes the blockchain stick with lore, why not bet on a Superman: The Ultimate Cryptonite ? I say that, it’s just to help publishers visibly out of inspiration…
