Netflix: that’s it, the price of the subscription is increasing in France

If your Netflix bill suddenly increases, nothing is wrong. In mid-August last, Netflix announced higher prices, of the order of 1 or 2 euros depending on the formula chosen. A little over a month later, the ax fell and the increase in question did indeed take place. Small reminder of the facts.

Yes Netflix has long been very aggressive on the prices of its subscriptions, the streaming platform must now make a profit from its blockbusters, the cost of which is increasing year by year. As a result of what, its prices are also increasing. While in 2014, the launch date of Netflix in France, we could enjoy a 4K subscription at 11.99 euros, it is now displayed at 17.99 € / month. And even the cheapest subscription goes there, since it is undergoing a price increase for the first time since 2014.

This year, the streaming service has seen its prices increase by 1 or 2 euros depending on the subscription formula chosen. If you are a subscriber to the streaming platform, don’t be surprised to see that the price shown on your monthly bill has changed.

What are the new prices for a Netflix subscription?

We told you about it last month, but as a reminder, here are the new prices charged by Netflix:

• Essential at € 8.99 / month (instead of € 7.99 / month). This offer offers viewing on a single screen and in standard definition (SD)
• Standard at € 13.99 / month (instead of € 13.99 / month). This offer allows you to watch Netflix on two screens simultaneously and in maximum high definition (HD)
• Premium at € 17.99 / month (instead of € 15.99 / month). This own offers four screens simultaneously, in 4K maximum, in Dolby Atmos and in HDR.

The Netflix rate increase depends on the day you signed up for the service. On the capture below, the deadline was on September 23. For the moment, the offers included with an operator subscription have not changed (this is particularly the case with Free, which offers, among other things, a free subscription to Netflix for any subscription to the Freebox Delta).

On condition of satisfying image quality in SD, the Essential offer remains financially attractive. Standard and Premium subscriptions “hoist” Netflix tops most expensive streaming services on the market. For comparison, a Disney + subscription costs € 8.99 / month and allows you to enjoy an image simultaneously on 4 screens and in 4K / Dolby Vision / Dolby Atmos.
