Pokémon Unite: Azumarill soon added to the roster
Some time ago, the team behind the Pokémon MOBA announced the upcoming release of two new fighters. We now know the name and release date of the first to integrate Pokemon Unite : Azumarill.

It was via a tweet that the arrival of this new character was announced by the Pokémon Unite account. In the image, we can see a confidential classified file containing clues to the identity of this Pokémon. In particular, two of the photos vaguely reveal parts of his body.
However, it was enough for fans of the license to join together to find any relevant information. They quickly deduced the name of the next Pokémon Unite champion: Azumarill.
Since then, a 30 second Azumarill teaser confirmed the rumors and gives us a glimpse of the range of his abilities.
A versatile Water/Fairy type fighter
As a reminder, Azumarill is a Water/Fairy-type Pokémon. It first appeared in the second generation of Pokémon games: Gold and Silver. It’s’evolution of Azurill and Marillpresent at entry 184 of the Pokédex.
Physically, Azumarill sports bunny ears on an egg-shaped body. Its zigzag-shaped tail ends in a small blue ball which it uses to attack. It’s a versatile fighter which should be able to both defend and inflict high damage. However, it will be weak against Grass-type attacksElectric and Poison.
Since the release of Pokémon Unite in July 2021, the catalog of 23 characters available at launch has continued to grow. Currently, there are 33 fighters in the roster. This number will soon be increased to 34 with the imminent release of Pokémon Unite’s next champion: Azumarill on April 7, 2022.
All eyes are now on the next Pokémon to be released, with new clues to its identity to be revealed shortly.
