Razer Edge 5G: the new portable cloud gaming console
After the announcement of the Logitech G Cloud last week, Razer has just released the teaser of its portable console under Android: the Razer Edge 5G. Let’s find out together what we know about this cloud gaming console that could well be a serious competitor for the Steam Deck, or the Nintendo Switch to some extent.
Razer Edge 5G: a new competitor in the portable console market
Two weeks from the RazerCon 2022its annual event, the Singaporean manufacturer known mainly for its peripherals, has just published the Razer Edge 5G teaser on his YouTube channel. In the 25 seconds of the teaser, we can partially discover the design of Razer’s portable console, but never completely.
We do know, however, that Razer’s console will use the operating system android and you will therefore be able to enjoy all the titles of the catalog of the Google Play Store. Most of cloud gaming services will also be accessible from this machine, such as Stadia, GeForce Now or the Xbox Game Pass.
Differences from the competition
If we lack too much information on the components embedded by the Razer Edge 5G to be able to compare it on the technical point, we can already see a point that sets it apart from its competitors. Unlike the Logitech G Cloud and the Steam Deck which only works on Wi-Fi, the Razer Edge 5G, as its name suggests, will allow you to enjoy your games anywhereprovided you get 5G of course.
