Samsung is removing ads from its One UI apps
Samsung has started removing ads from its apps on its Android overlay: One UI. The presence of advertising has so far been a big flaw in Samsung’s overlay, but that will change soon.
Samsung, unlike Apple or other competitors at Android, still continues to display ads in its One UI overlay. In August, Samsung management said it had heard feedback from consumers and employees complaining about ads in standard apps and would consider removing them. According to 9to5google, Samsung has already started removing ads from its overlay, since these would no longer appear in the Samsung Weather, Pay or Health applications for some users.
The ads in the preinstalled apps were particularly frustrating, especially on the Korean giant’s flagship smartphones. Indeed, some consumers did not understand why they spent more than 1000 euros on a high-end Galaxy smartphone and continued to be burdened with advertisements when they were using Samsung apps.

Samsung begins to remove ads from its overlay
At this time, not all users should be affected by the removal of these ads. Indeed, for the moment this would concern American and South Korean customers, but Samsung is working hard to remove ads from all of its users. Other Samsung One UI apps are expected to have their ads removed within the next few weeks.
If you are still seeing ads on your Samsung phone for the aforementioned third-party apps by the end of 2021, you may need to force stop the application and restart it. We do not yet have a specific date for their withdrawal in France, but we will of course keep you informed as soon as this change is effective.
While waiting to see Samsung remove the ads for all users, they are firmly waiting for the new Android 12 update and the new One UI 4.0 overlay, for which Samsung has already started to deploy the beta. The Korean giant should make it available for all compatible smartphones by the end of the year or the beginning of next year.
