Soon the release of Honor of Kings worldwide
After phenomenal success in China since 2015, we will finally witness the Honor of Kings release in the whole world. Will Level Infinite and TiMi Studios’ MOBA have the same success internationally? We take stock of what we know about this announcement.
Finally a worldwide release for Honor of Kings
It’s through Twitter than the studio Level Infinite officially announced the news. No specific date has been announced for the release of Honor of Kings in France. We currently have to content ourselves with an estimate for the end of year 2022.
On the other hand, we know that the test phases will begin in July. Several beta sessions will be organized, but it is not yet possible to register for the moment.
To prepare the Honor of Kings releaselet’s come back to the principle of the game. HoK is a MOBAlargely inspired by League of Legends, whose characters come from the chinese mythology.
Players can compete in arenas in 1 against 1, in 3 against 3, but also and especially in games with 5 against 5. This is also the mode used during sports competitions on the game, like the majority of MOBAs.
An international success?
With only the Chinese market, Honor of Kings has more than 100 million daily players. It is also the first mobile game to have exceeded 10 billion dollars in revenue. Looking at these numbers, we can expect the global release of Honor of Kings to be a colossal success.
However, following this announcement, one can legitimately ask questions as to the competition with Arena of Valor. Indeed, AoV is a MOBA, also developed by TiMi Studios, whose goal was to adapt HoK outside the Chinese borders.
But with the Honor of Kings release around the world, people wonder if the two can coexist without cannibalizing each other. We will have to wait until the end of the year to see the result, which will in any case make the news.
The universe of HoK will also continue to open up to the world with Honor of Kings: World, which we talked about in a previous article. To not miss any news about mobile games, head to our news page.
