Surface Laptop Studio official: Microsoft merges its best PCs into one power monster

During a conference today, Microsoft unveiled what is arguably its best laptop ever: the Surface Laptop Studio. As the name suggests, it follows on from the Surface Laptop and Surface Studio, getting the best of both worlds in one device. Geforce RTX 3050 Ti, Intel 11th Generation SoC, Windows 11, the new Surface revolutionizes the range.

“This is the most powerful Surface ever.” Microsoft did not mince words to present the Surface Laptop Studio. Behind this extended name is exactly what you think: a worthy heir to the Surface Latop and Surface Studio. If the concept may seem strange at first glance, the PC has everything to appeal to the greatest number. It must be said that the Redmond firm was expected at the turn.

As the latest Laptop and Surface Studio came out in 2018, users were asking a well-deserved update of their machine. Concern was escalated last month when a patent emerged for the Surface Book 4, which obviously didn’t offer a detachable screen. He finally had to wait for the manufacturer’s last conference to discover that it was in fact the Surface Laptop Studio.

The most disappointed will find consolation on the impressive technical sheet of the Surface Laptop Studio, which borders on that of a real gaming PC. With its Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card and its 11th generation Intel processor, the latter does not have to be ashamed in the face of the power of its competitors. Microsoft has also not been asked to demonstrate its performance. It is thus possible to rotate Forza Horizon 5 at 60 FPS, having configured the graphics to the maximum. All this, without counting the possibilities offered by Xbox Game Pass.

But who says Surface Laptop, says optimization for graphic designers. This is where the PC shines the most, going from a classic laptop to a tablet in a few seconds, with a simple gesture. Ideal for transitioning from word processing to desktop publishing software effortlessly, the Surface Laptop Pro is therefore just as suitable professionals of all kinds and more entertainment-oriented users. It will be accompanied as such by the Surface Slim Pen 2, which attaches magnetically to the side for automatic recharging.

The PC also presents a 14.4-inch touchscreen, as well as four Dolby Atmos speakers. On the connectivity side, there are two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a Surface Connect port and a headphone jack. The set will run on Windows 11 as soon as it is released, scheduled for early 2022. Microsoft has yet to release its exact price.
