Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge on mobile for Netflix subscribers
After a release this summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Sitch and PC, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is coming to mobile. Accessible on iOS and Android exclusively via Netflix Games, this game pays homage to games from the 90s, both in its gameplay and in its graphics.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is a side-scrolling beat ’em up inspired by games released on consoles and arcade terminals in the 80s/90s in which you progress by defeating your enemies. In command of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphaelbut also their sidekicks Master Splinter, April O’Neil and Casey Jones, you will have to defeat Shredder’s troops and reach the big bad Krang.
For this, you have at your disposal a whole range of combos by combining blows, grips and directions. If the title borrows the gameplay basics previous games, this one is vastly fleshed out in the range of moves available, but also in the level design which has much more depth.
Graphics faithful to the cartoon and old games
Visually, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge on mobile adopt a pixel art style very fine which offers very beautiful graphics in an aesthetic that is close to the cartoon of the 80s/90s, especially in the cutscenes. From the map between levels to character selection, from many references will please fans of NES and Super Nintendo games.
You will find many secondary characters as well as emblematic places of the license in the story mode from TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge on mobile. If you are looking for more difficulty, the Arcade mode features limited lives and credits with no progress saves, for an experience that’s true to the arcade machines of the era.
The nervous soundtrack adapts very well to the atmosphere of arcade games with frenetic music that pushes you to beat your score at each level. The game also invites you to complete the levels several times to complete challenges and find all the objects.
For those of you who don’t have a Netflix subscription, the game is also accessible on Android and iOS via the Game Pass Ultimatewhich allows you to play on mobile in the PC and console version.
