The Chasm in Genshin Impact: everything we know
We’ve been waiting for a long timearrival of the Chasm in Genshin Impact. The latter taunts us on the map: we see the name of the area, but we cannot access it. The wait will finally end with the update 2.6 ! This time, we leave Inazuma to return to the side of Liyue. It is also the first step in getting closer to sumeru and his heroes Dendro! Even though players are already looking towards the light element from recent leaks. While waiting to be able to explore this new region, we take stock of everything what we know about the Chasm in Genshin Impact : geography, enemies, challenges, game mechanics, etc.
Chasm release date in Genshin Impact
During the update 2.5 live, MiHoYo officially confirmed the arrival of the Chasm in Genshin Impact in patch 2.6 and revealed several artworks at the same time.
The Chasm will probably be accessible from the start of the update. Patch 2.5 ending on March 30, we can hope to discover this new area from March 31 or March 1er April.
But what exactly is The Gouffre?
The Chasm is a new area in Genshin Impact. It should be at least as big as the Dosdragon Mountains. The Chasm was created thousands of years earlier by the fall of a celestial body. He dug a large mine, rich in mysterious materials.
If this territory is not yet available, many rumors circulate about it. The Chasm would have been sealed for some time. But it is experiencing worrying changes… You can guess what happens next: the Traveler will once again be mandated to investigate and thus set off on an adventure.
What will The Chasm look like in Genshin Impact?
According to several leaks, The Chasm would offer two areas in Genshin Impact: upper and lower. Each would have its own map with each time 7 sub-zones.
The upper part features a different environment than what we have seen so far in Genshin Impact: a desolate landscape, looking abandoned and covered in red plants and grasses.
You can discover the names of the different places as well as the topography of the surface on Twitter:
The underground part is made up of winding and complex paths, as can be guessed from the map. It’s a safe bet that getting around the mines won’t be easy. Fortunately, fluorescent plants light up the place. There would also be upside-down areas, with buildings hanging from the ceiling.
But that’s not all, like the Dosdragon Mountains, Le Gouffre would present a difficulty of its own: areas invaded by a “black mud” causing continuous loss of life points. This would also impact your mobility.
You will also have to solve several puzzles around the entrance to the Chasm in Genshin Impact. Expect rocky pillars causing earthquakes, stones shooting crystal projectiles, and more.
The enemies present in The Chasm

You have understood it: Le Gouffre promises to be a dangerous and hostile area. Many enemies await you there⦠The area would even have links with the Abyss!
During the Update 2.5 live, MiHoYo revealed the visuals of certain creatures, including the imposing Serpent of the Ruins : a gigantic machine in the shape of a snake. It would cause both physical and corrosive damage. You will also face floating creatures, both adorable and fearsome, which resemble a combination between a Blob and a Spectre.

That’s all we know for now! We will have to wait for Genshin Impact’s Update 2.6 live to discover more about this mysterious Chasm and the dangers lurking there… Until then, we can only advise you to prepare your heroes for the new challenges you reserve the RPG!
