The Galaxy Tab S9 could be entitled to a rare feature on tablets

by mobailee February 24, 2023 21

Samsung is about to launch a new generation of high-end tablets, the Galaxy Tab S9, and these could arrive with a feature that is quite complicated to find on tablets: water and dust resistance.

It has now been almost a year since Samsung launched its Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ tablets, but above all the gigantic Tab S8 Ultra, which we were able to test. Samsung has no not really used to unveiling a new generation of tablet at the same time each yearwhich is why information about the next Galaxy Tab S9 is currently quite rare.

However, a new report from SamMobile has just revealed that Samsung’s next high-end tablets are going to get a fairly rare feature on the market, and generally reserved for so-called “rugged” tablets. According to their information, the Galaxy Tab S9 will be IP67 certified for water and dust resistance.

The Galaxy Tab S9 will be IP68 certified

The IP67 certification won’t exactly be a first for Samsung, since its “rugged” Galaxy Tab Active 3 tablet was already certified. However, this technical feature remains quite rare on so-called “classic” tablets.

Most of Samsung’s smartphones are already certified for water and dust resistance, with high-end devices in particular being IP68 certified. This means that smartphones are protected against all types of dust and other particles of the same size (number 6), and can be submerged more than one meter deep in clear water (figure 8). The device is theoretically totally sealed, but sometimes water can get inside under certain conditions.

For tablets, you will have to settle for IP67 certification. The device will therefore be totally protected against all types of dust and other particles of the same size (figure 6); and that he perfectly withstands immersion for 30 minutes at “only” 1 meter deep (number 7). For the moment, we do not really know when these Galaxy Tab S9 will arrive. If you are looking for a Samsung tablet and you don’t know which one to choose, we advise you to follow our dedicated guide.
