The iPhone 15 Pro would finally have physical buttons, Apple

The iPhone 14 would be Apple’s last smartphone with a notch
While the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro are not expected for several months, we now know a little more about the generation that will arrive in 2023, which will be called iPhone 15 for the moment.
According to a new report from Ross Young, CEO of analyst firm Display Supply Chain Consultants and a well-known industry insider who is almost never wrong, iPhone 14 should be Apple’s last smartphone with a notch.
We already know that the iPhone 14 and 14 Max models which will be presented in September 2022 will both inherit the design of the previous generations, while the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will benefit froma new design with a screen housing a double punch.
All iPhone 15s would adopt the design with a pill and a punch
According to Ross Young, all iPhone 15 models would benefit from the same screen as the iPhone 14 Pro with a punch and a pill. It means that the iPhone 14 and 14 Max would be the last to offer the famous notch that Apple adopted on its iPhone X in 2017, shortly after its introduction on Android smartphones.
Although Apple is considering abandoning the notch, the alternative offered on the iPhone 14 Pro does not seem to appeal to all those who were hoping for more discreet front sensors. Indeed, it would seem that the pill and punch combo is finally almost as imposing as a notchaccording to the first diagrams of the devices.
“It will be another instantly recognizable form of screen for Apple“, writes Young, adding that “the pill + punch design is almost as wide as the notch, but will definitely save a few pixels above the punches“. According to Young, Apple could nevertheless reduce the size of the two hallmarks in 2023, but it is not yet clear whether these will really be smaller.
AlthoughApple still won’t offer an under-display camera for the next few years, to see iPhones abandoning the notch is good news, since they have been using it for almost 5 years now. The change in design should also be accompanied by sensor technology placed under the screen which will allow make the Face ID system more discreet. Unfortunately, none of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 would be entitled to a Touch ID sensor.
