The Play Store now shows the version of Android required for each app
The Play Store is getting a very handy new feature. Now, the Google Store shows which version of Android is required to install each app. We explain how to access this information.
Over the updates, Google continues to refine the Play Store, its Android application store. Recently, the Mountain View giant started to transparently share the list of changes made by the push updates through the Play Store. Shortly before, Google offered a new button in the application settings, which makes it easy to ensure that it is up to date.
In the same vein, the Play Store will now clearly display what is Android version required for installing an application. Indeed, all the applications in the store are not necessarily compatible with earlier versions of the mobile OS.

How do I know which version of Android is required to install an app on the Play Store?
Until now, Google was careful not to specify the information on the mobile version of the Play Store. The firm simply displayed that an application required Android to function. On the web version of the Play Store, Google only advertises that compatibility varies with deviceand therefore with the version of Android installed.
How to know the version of Android compatible with an app?
- Open Play Store
- Find the app you want to install
- Go to section About the app
- Scroll down the page
- Consult the section App Info
- Go to Android line
- On the right, the Play Store displays the required version (Android .0 or later) based on the latest app update
To get this information, just install the latest version from the Google Play Store. Several members of the editorial staff have already been able to install the update, including the deployment started only a few days ago.
