The Pokémon GO Ban Wave: A Niantic Mistake
Recently, many Pokémon GO players received a really nasty surprise while trying to open their mobile app. For some, an information message indicated to them a temporary ban of one or more months. For others, less fortunate, the punishment went as far as definitive ban… No one wants to have their account deactivated and have to start their progress all over again with the loss of all their Legendary Pokémon and all of their Shiny Pokémon. But what was even harder to swallow was that these players hadn’t done anything wrong to receive a ban Pokémon GO. They were not cheaters but players like the others. Niantic has since recognized his fault…
A fairly inexplicable mistake
No one really knows what stung the anti-cheat system behind the Pokémon GO bans. The latter seems to have gotten out of hand by sending inexplicable sanctions. While some members of the community thought there had been an issue with an update to Apple’s iOS system, the concern actually seems much larger since other players have also been affected on Android. And even if Niantic quickly took the measure of the situation, the company decided not to communicate further explanations.
For those who wonder what to do to no longer be ban Pokémon GO in 2021, the answer is simple: you just have to wait patiently. There is no need to file a complaint because Niantic takes care of everything. The players who have been affected have not finished bitching, however. Some of them missed Pokémon GO Fest 2021 (July 17-18). There were exceptional Raids with Legendary Pokémon. At the moment, it is not known if compensation is planned from the developers for those who missed this golden opportunity to fill their Pokédex.
Why is the anti-cheating system on hold on Pokémon GO?
The ban Pokémon GO is a recurring topic in the community. If this time the wave of sanctions was unjustified, it is not uncommon to see cheaters. In this game where you have to walk and travel the world to catch Pokémon and earn resources, you can easily cheat Pokémon GO by using a VPN or one hack to lie about his geolocation. We can thus rotate a maximum of Pokéstops and reach special geographical areas.
