On the occasion of Pokémon Unite’s first anniversary, we learned of the arrival of three new characters in the game. Tyranitar released in Pokémon Unite. We explain in a few lines how to play this Pokémon.
Arrival of Tyranitar in Pokémon Unite
To play well Tyranitar in Pokémon Unitewe must first understand this Pokémon has the dual type Dark and Rock. In the early game, this versatile melee fighter appears as aEmbrylex. It then evolves into Ymphect at level 4, then in Tyranitar at level 9.
His talent evolves with him. In the form of Embrylex, talent Notch increases his attack for a short time when he takes damage. As Ymphect, Moult frees him from his status effects and he gets a shield when he takes damage.
Finally, Flying Sand generates a sandstorm around Tyranitar after using an ability. In addition to inflicting damage on enemies, it boosts his defense and his special defense. In addition to this talent, every three basic attacks, the next one deals more damage.
Now that we have established the Tyranitar basics in Pokémon Unite, it’s time to dwell on these different capacities. Let’s start with both abilities of levels 1 and 3. With BiteEmbrylex inflicts damage in front of him, and if his target is below a certain amount of hit points, he is temporarily immobilized.
On his side, Poliroche allows Embrylex to charge in a direction dealing damage in its path. If he hits at least one opponent, his attack is boosted for a short time.
Tyranitar Level 5 Abilities in Pokémon Unite
At level 5you can choose between two abilities to replace Bite. Vibrobscure summons a mist that deals damage to enemies hit. This buff retains one of the properties of the original ability, namely immobilizing targets below a certain hit point percentage. Upgrading Darkshake reduces its recovery time.
The other choice is Rock Blade. With this ability, Tyranitar deals area damage. The closer the targets are to him, the more damage he takes. Blade of Rock can be activated three times for a certain time, which widens its area of effect. Upgrading this ability increases its damage.
Tyranitar Level 9 Abilities in Pokémon Unite
Is the level 9 that Ymphect evolves into Tyranitar in Pokémon Unite. At that point, it is this time Poliroche that must be replaced by one of these two abilities:
- Ancient Power : Tyranitar releases a shockwave that damages and immobilizes opposing Pokémon. Before you can cast this ability, Tyranitar must build up power. During this time, his movement speed is improved, he benefits from a shield and becomes immune to crowd control. If the shockwave hits an enemy, Tyranitar ignores shields and defense. It can also launch a second shockwave that reduces the speed of opposing Pokémon.
- Peat-Sand : Tyranitar jumps in a direction. It inflicts damage and immobilizes the Pokémon hit during its jump. Upon landing, it causes a cloud of dust that deals progressive damage and slows enemies. Conversely, Tyranitar takes less damage in the storm and ignores enemy defense and shields.
Finally, Tyranitar’s Unite ability is Tyrannical Anger. When activated, Tyranitar becomes enraged. His basic attacks then deal more damage and his movement speed is increased. In addition, when it hits opposing Pokémon below a certain percentage of hit points, they are immediately knocked out.
