When it comes to the shortage of components, pessimism is in order. “I think it’s probably too isolated to talk about a simple chip problem”, explains Phil Spencer. “When I think about what it means to get the parts needed to build a console today and then get them to the markets where the demand is, there are several problematic steps in this process. And I think that, unfortunately, this will accompany us for months and months, certainly until the end of this calendar year and into the following calendar year ”.

The boss of Xbox thus joins his comrades in the automotive sector, who also plan for 2023 for a return to normal. Other manufacturers are clear on this subject: 2022 will not be spared by the shortage of components.
