Xiaomi Mi Pad 5: 120 Hz screen, Snapdragon 888, Xiaomi’s Android tablet becomes clearer
Xiaomi should soon present its new Mi Pad 5 tablet. It would come in several versions and today, we are starting to have information. The Chinese manufacturer should bet on the top of the range.
The Android tablet market is not as flamboyant as it used to be, despite a strong increase in the last quarter. However, some manufacturers continue to bet on this format, such as Apple, Samsung or Xiaomi. It is the latter that interests us today, and more particularly his Mi Pad 5.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 should, as is now the case with the competition, offer a powerful and flexible machine, almost an auxiliary computer like the iPad Pro or the Galaxy Tab. The tablet has been certified with the Chinese regulator and telecoms, which allowed us to learn several interesting things. We thus have a first visual, but not only.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 would be available in three versions
The tablet would thus have two batteries of 4,260 mAh, therefore a total capacity of 8,520 mAh, which suggests good autonomy. Regarding the screen, the most upscale version should have an LCD panel with a definition of 2560 x 1600 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The Mi pad 5 should be offered in several versions. For the moment, three seem to stand out: one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, one with a Qualcomm 860 and a last, obviously the most high-end, with a Snapdragon 888 SoC. Regarding the rear camera, it would be the same module as on the Mi 11. For the rest, we have no more information, neither concerning the price, nor even the release date. The biggest unknown remains all the same its arrival outside the Chinese borders. With the tablet market picking up again, it would not be surprising to see the manufacturer attempting the adventure internationally.
Xiaomi has been in good shape since the start of the year, especially in the smartphone market. The Mi 11, its new top-of-the-range phone, came out earlier this year and has proven to be very good. It had an Ultra version that we tested recently and that we really appreciated. For this reason, we hope to see the manufacturer offer its tablets on the old continent.
