Xiaomi Watch S1 Active official: here is the ideal affordable smartwatch for sportsmen

Xiaomi has just announced the Watch S1 Active during the presentation of the Xiaomi 12. Intended for athletes, the connected watch embeds several sensors intended to assess the health and physical performance of its wearer. Proposed at 199 dollars, it is also distinguished by the presence of the voice assistant Amazon Alexa.

This Tuesday, March 15, 2022, Xiaomi organized an online conference to announce the launch of the Xiaomi 12 on the European market. After having unveiled its new smartphones at length, the Chinese brand presented some accessories intended for stores in Europe, including the Buds 3T Pro

Xiaomi also announced the arrival of the Watch S1 and the Watch S1 Active. For the record, we had already covered the presentation in China of the Watch S1 at the end of last year. On the other hand, the firm had not yet mentioned the Active version.

Xiaomi promises 12 days of battery life on the Watch S1 Active

The Watch S1 Active is rather intended for athletes. It features 117 activity tracking modes and 19 tracking modes dedicated to sports professionals. There are modes for tennis, running or swimming (the watch is waterproof). A dual-frequency GPS system is integrated into the accessory to improve monitoring of outdoor training sessions.

The connected watch is covered with a 1.43 inch AMOLED HD screen surrounded by resistant metal borders. Xiaomi announcement more than 200 different dials and customizable wallpapers with MIUI 13 for the smartwatch.

Unsurprisingly, the smartwatch embeds a heart monitor capable of continuous operation and measures the level of oxygen saturation in the blood via a SpO2 sensor. There is also a sleep tracking system.

The S1 Active is capable of make calls via Bluetooth. You can communicate with your interlocutor thanks to the integrated microphone and speakers. Xiaomi also integrates Amazon’s voice assistant, the famous Alexa, and supports contactless payments by NFC. Finally, the brand promises an autonomy of 12 days in normal use.

The S1 Active connected watch is available in colors white, black and blue. To ensure that each buyer finds a model to their liking, Xiaomi also offers ultra-light waterproof rubber straps in different colors (white, black, yellow, green, blue and red). It will be sold at a price of 199 dollars. The price in euros was not disclosed.
