Xiaomi will launch Mi Pad 5 tablets with 120 Hz display
Xiaomi aims to tackle Apple’s iPad Pro. The Chinese manufacturer is currently developing a new range of premium tablets, the Mi Pad 5. Available in three models, the tablets will stand out thanks to their 120 Hz screen, a quadruple back photo sensor, wireless charging and Qualcomm chipsets compatible with the 5G. We take stock of all the information available.
According to the information that appeared on the Telegram Xiaomiui group, Xiaomi is preparing a new range of premium tablets: the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. This new series succeeds the Mi Pad 4, which we tested, and the Mi Pad 4 Plus. These last two tablets were rather oriented mid-range or even entry-level.
The Mi Pad 5 is more for users looking for performance. According to information that appeared on the Telegram group, the three variants are mentioned internally under the code names K81 Enuma, K81A Elish, and K82 Nabu. Note that the Xiaomiui Group has regularly published information that has proven to be correct in the past.
5G and Qualcomm chips for the future Xiaomi Mi Pad 5
The three tablets in the range are on board a quadruple photo sensor with wide-angle, macro and depth sensor, an IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 4 speakers. The leak claims that all three Mi Pads are powered by a battery compatible with wireless charging by induction QI. Note that induction charging was not offered on the previous models, the Mi Pad 4.
The K81 Enuma and K81A Elish would be the most premium tablets in the range. These two devices would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC. Compatible with 5G, the chipset is engraved in 7 nm. It’s very similar to last year’s Snapdragon 865. The K81 and K81A are said to have a 48-megapixel and 12-megapixel primary lens on the back, respectively.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 would have a selfie photo sensor hidden under the screen
More affordable, the K82 Nabu tablet would be satisfied with a Snapdragon 860 SoC. Recently announced, the chip is a slightly more powerful version of the Snapdragon 855 and 855 Plus with the same 7nm engraving. We tell you more as soon as possible about the Mi Pad 5.
