While the game has been available in beta for some time, today is the release of Autochess MOBA in soft launch on Android and iOS. Let’s discover together our first impressions of this deja-vu title and see if it can hold its own in the mobile MOBA market.
Release of Autochess MOBA: more than just a clone?
To understand the whole story behind the release of Autochess MOBA on iOS and Android, I refer you to our recap in which we discussed the subject. To put it simply, this title is the result of a series of inspiration (or theft, it all depends on your point of view), which has given rise in recent years to the creation of several game modes, such as the MOBA and theautochess.
It is therefore in a very competitive context that Autochess MOBA lands on the market of Mobile MOBAsalready busy with Wild Rift, Mobile Legends and many clones.
We therefore logically find many Similarities Between Autochess MOBA and Wild Rift, whether in the gameplay or in the artistic direction. The parties take place in 5v5 with one player on top, one in jungle, one in mid and two in bot. The different characters are divided into different roles : tank, fighter, mage, shooter and support.
Many of the characters resemble those of the League of Legends universe, whether aesthetically like Space Walker and Wukong or Egeris Ranger and Ashe, but also in the combat archetypes.
A better finish than the competition
But beyond this creative aspect, it must be admitted that the release of Autochess MOBA on mobile offers a nice menu finishwhich are modern and pleasant to browse, and a neat character design.
Besides, all 25 champions are free and the following will be too. It is your advancement in the ranks that will allow you to unlock new characters.
A Battlepassfree and paid, is still present if you want to unlock many rewards, such as champion skinscrystals or treasures containing random items.
For the moment, PvP games only take place in ranked matchbut you can test any character in thecoaching before jumping into the deep end.
